Blinken Spoke With Aliyev, Welcomed Halt To Hostilities, Urged For Peace
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Sunday spoke with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
The Secretary "welcomed a halt to recent hostilities between Armenia and Azerbaijan," State Department's spokesperson Ned Price said in a readout of the call.
Blinken also urged Aliyev to "adhere to the ceasefire, disengage military forces, and work to resolve all outstanding issues between Armenia and Azerbaijan through peaceful negotiations," Price noted.

Today, September 7, 2024, the second picket in support of Igbal Abilov was held in The Hague (Netherlands) in front of the Embassy of Azerbaijan. The event was organized by Igbal's friends and colleagues. During the picket, protesters continued to collect signatures for the petition and called on Azerbaijan authorities to stop persecution and free Igbal. This is the second rally in support of Abilov in Europe.
