Today the British Ambassador to Azerbaijan Carol Crofts met with the head of the party "Musavat" Arif Hajili. During the meeting they discussed the socio-political situation in the country, the amendments to the Constitution, submitted to referendum on 26 September, and its possible consequences, according to the press-service of "Musavat." They also touched issues related to the recent politically motivated arrests, pressure on activists of the "Musavat" during the collection of signatures for the registration of a campaign group on referendum, the state of freedom of speech and press in Azerbaijan, socio-economic situation in the country, topical issues of international and regional life.
