Center for Monitoring Political Prisoners Announces Human Rights Defender of the Year
Baku / 23.12.17 / Turan: The Center for Monitoring Political Prisoners in Azerbaijan awarded the Human Rights Defender of 2017 Prize to the Director of the Institute for Peace and Democracy, Leila Yunus.
Elshan Hasanov, the head of the Center for Monitoring Political Prisoners, said she was awarded this award for her active struggle for human rights, in particular the protection of illegally convicted persons in the Nardaran case, as well as arrested bloggers and journalists.
