Central Election Commission announced the schedule of the presidential election

The official press published a schedule of major actions and activities related to the preparation and holding of the October 9 presidential elections in Azerbaijan.

According to the document, on the date of publication of the decision on the date of the election, nomination of candidates begins in initiative groups of voters, political parties, and blocs of political parties.

The decision to approve or not a candidate is accepted within 5 days after the submission of documents to the CEC.

From the date of approval of a presidential candidate, petitions are issued to the authorized representatives. Submission of the required documents for registration of presidential candidates begins August 20 and ends on September 9 at 18.00. Checking the signature sheets and other documents and the decision on registration or non-registration of a candidate is accepted within 7 days.

Treatment of intent to monitor the elections by citizens, candidate representatives, NGOs, international observers (who came by invitation, in the manner prescribed by law and have been registered in the CEC), are accepted until September 29.

Applications of intent to conduct surveillance in districts, constituencies and district election commissions are accepted until October 4. Appeals to hold exit-poll are taken since September 19, and are considered until September 29.

The stage of the election campaign begins 23 days before the election, that is, on September 16 and ends 24 hours before the start of the voting - October 8. The voting starts at 8.00 and ends at 19.00.

On the elections day information about the number of voters will be released at 10.00, 12.00, 15.00, 17.00, and 19.00.

Summary information from the summary protocols of voting precincts and district election commissions will be exposed on the CEC website on the elections day and after that.

The first copies of the final protocols of precinct election commissions should no later than in 24 hours be delivered to the district election commission, and those no later than 2 days after the election (until October 11) must submit final reports to the CEC.

The third copies of the protocols on the sites and in the districts shall be exhibited to familiarize citizens for 5 and 10 days.

Preliminary results of the elections will be announced by the CEC immediately after receiving reports from district election commissions.

Up to 19 October, the CEC will transmit reports on the results of the election to the Constitutional Court, which, within 14 days after the polling day, is to announce the official results of the election. The president-elect will take the oath of office in 3 days. -06D
