Chief of Russia�s General Staff and NATO Supreme Commander Meet in Baku
Baku / 20.04.18 / Turan: In Baku on April 19, General Scaparotti, the Supreme Commander of the NATO Armed Forces, met with the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation - First Deputy Defense Minister, Army General Valery Gerasimov.
NATO and Russia retain lines of communication between military departments, for the sake of greater predictability and transparency of military activities. During the conversation, the sides focused on military strategy and military exercises. This meeting demonstrates the mutual interest in supporting military lines of communication, in accordance with NATO's policy of transparency and the preservation of dialogue between the parties.
The meeting was a logical continuation of the meeting between Army General Valery Gerasimov and the Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, Colonel-General Peter Pavel on September 7, 2017.
General Scaparotti and Army General Gerasimov agreed on the continuation of such contacts in the future, NATO headquarters reported. --0--

Today, in Tbilisi, a protest was held in front of the Government House of Georgia in support of Afghan Sadigov, the leader of the Azerbaijani “Azel TV” website who has been arrested in Georgia. On September 10, the Orda training ground in the Turkistan region of Kazakhstan hosted the opening of the multinational Special Forces exercises "Endless Brotherhood – III." Participating in the exercises are Special Forces units from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Türkiye, Pakistan, Qatar, and Uzbekistan, with representatives from the armed forces of Jordan and Kyrgyzstan observing the drills.
