Commission Set Up to Identify Sources of Harmful News against Azerbaijan
Baku / 03.05.18 / Turan: President Ilham Aliyev issued an order "On the establishment of a coordinating Commission for information security." The document was signed on March 29, 2018, but was not published on official websites. However, it is on the website of the Special State Protection Service (SSPS).
However, the names of the Commission members are not disclosed. The appointed Chairman of the Commission is the Head of the State Agency for Special Communication and Information Security.
The members of the Commission are the Deputy Ministers of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, Internal Affairs and Defense, the Deputy Heads of the State Security and Foreign Intelligence Services, and the Deputy Chairman of the ASAN State Agency.
To ensure the activities of the Commission, a secretariat is created in the person of the State Agency for Special Communication and Information Security under SSPS.
The Commission is commissioned to assess the challenges of the information security of Azerbaijan, including determining their main sources, directions, forms, and possible damage.
The Commission is required to coordinate the state bodies to plan and implement joint measures to prevent security challenges.
A working group is created under the Commission to deal with the issues of organizing the protection of information resources and public infrastructure facilities from cyber attacks, and taking the necessary countermeasures.
The Commission is also instructed to immediately identify sources of targeted dissemination of false information on the Internet against the national interests of Azerbaijan and inform the relevant state bodies. -06D-
