Creation of the "Party of welfare of the peoples of Azerbaijan"
Baku / 03.01.18 / Turan: A meeting of the initiative group of seven people on the establishment of the "Welfare Party of the Peoples of Azerbaijan" was held in Baku.
"Despite the activities of numerous parties in Azerbaijan, none of them included clauses or provisions in their programs and charters on the preservation and development of culture, traditions, national and spiritual values of the fraternal peoples living in Azerbaijan, on their equal participation in political processes," reads the statement of the initiative group.
On the contrary, the document further says, the leaders and functionaries of some parties take a destructive, and sometimes ultra-nationalist position, aimed at inciting hatred between nations.
In this regard, the statement says, it became necessary to create a new political organization aimed at protecting the interests of all the peoples of Azerbaijan.
The new party sees the future of Azerbaijan as a state based on democratic values with the rights of all nations reflected in the constitution.
Party members can be all citizens of Azerbaijan, regardless of their language and religious affiliation, the statement on the establishment of a new party concludes.
The initiative group included SeidamirMamedov, Sabir Huseynov, AlimardanShukurov, Elman Mamedov, MehdibekSafarov, MirtagiNasirov, and RafigJalilov.
RafigJalilov is the chief editor of the TolyshonSado (Voice of Talysh) newspaper, and MehdibekSafarov is the head of the Azeri-Talysh public association.
Other members of the initiative group are not known in public and political circles. -06D-
