Criminal case opened against former head of capital and current repair section of housing and maintenance department of Ministry of Defense, Rahim Lachinov
A criminal case has been opened against the former head of the capital and current repair section of the housing and exploitation department of the Ministry of Defense Rahim Lachinov.
Senior Assistant Military Prosecutor of Azerbaijan Firad Aliyev told Turan that Lachinov is charged under Articles 179.4 (embezzlement) and 341.2.3 (abuse of official powers) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
On the submission of the Military Prosecutor, the Baku Military Court arrested Lachinov. An investigation is underway.
Lachinov's lawyers and representatives were unavailable for comment.
Added to this can be that after the end of the 44-day Karabakh war in 2020, about 10 high-ranking officials dealing with finance and material support of the Ministry of Defense were suspended and arrested.

Activist Nijat Ibrahim, who was detained in Baku pre-trial detention center-1, inflicted numerous wounds on himself on November 20 in protest against unjustified criminal prosecution, his wife Parvin Ibrahim told Turan. According to her, on November 21, her husband called her and informed her that the day before he had inflicted incised wounds on himself with a piece of mirror. In particular, he cut his throat and ears.
