Eldar Hasanov uses a wheelchair – lawyer
Baku/09.08.21/Turan: İn the morning, August 8, former Azerbaijani Ambassador and ex-Prosecutor General of the country Eldar Hasanov fell due to dizziness in the military hospital of the State Security Service (SSS), his lawyer Javad Javadov told Turan.
By a lucky chance, he did not receive a serious injury. On that day, in a wheelchair, he was brought to meet with a lawyer and an investigator.
"According to Eldar Hasanov, the doctors forbade him to move independently," the lawyer said.
The defense appealed to the Prosecutor General with a request to vary the preventive measure for Hasanov in order to treat him in a specialized clinic. Earlier, the lawyers' appeals to the country's leadership and the Prosecutor General's office yielded no results. After the Strasbourg Court decision on interim measures, Hasanov was transferred to the SSS hospital.
İt should be added that he suffers from a serious spinal disease that has essentially worsened after his arrest. İt should be reminded that Eldar Hasanov was arrested on August 13, 2020 by State Security Service officers on charges of abuse and misuse of budget funds.
Note that Eldar Hasanov worked as the Azerbaijani Ambassador to Romania in 2001-2020, and then to Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia. In 1995-2000. he was the Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan. -03D06-
