Eldar Hasanov's Arrest Period Extended by Four Months
Baku / 24.10.20 / Turan: Today, the Nasimi District Court extended the term of a preventive measure in the form of arrest for the former ambassador of Azerbaijan to Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina Eldar Hasanov for another 4 months.
Turan was informed about this in the Nasimi district court.
Hasanov pleads not guilty.
The Azerbaijani ambassador to Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina, Eldar Hasanov, was detained on August 13 in connection with a criminal case against officials of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry on abuse of authority, taking bribes and embezzling budget money. Hasanov was personally charged under Articles 308.2 (abuse of office, which entailed grave consequences) and 308-1.1 (misuse of state budget funds) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan. According to these articles, Hasanov could face up to 7 years in prison. -0-

According to her, on November 21, her husband called her and informed her that the day before he had inflicted incised wounds on himself with a piece of mirror. In particular, he cut his throat and ears.
