Meeting of Erdogan and Putin in Astana
Erdogan: Turkey does not lose hope for peace in Ukraine
Baku/21.10.22/Turan: "Turkey does not lose hope for a dialogue between the leaders of the Russian Federation and Ukraine. Both sides are suffering heavy losses today. I am sure that the world will not have a losing side," stated the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in an interview with journalists who accompanied him during his visit to Azerbaijan on October 20, Anadolu reports.
Erdogan said that following the results of his last conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, he had the impression that the position of the Russian leader on the issue of dialogue with Ukraine was softening than before.
“In the coming days, based on the results of telephone conversations [with Putin and Zelensky], we will understand how far we can go. The day before, I spoke with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. I felt in his speech the absence of barriers and the readiness to resolve this issue. We do not lose hope for peace,” Erdogan said.---0—
