EU ready to support Azerbaijan in restoring liberated territories
Baku/08.07.21/Turan: On July 8, the European Union Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Oliver Varheyi, who is on a visit to Baku, met with the head of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan Samir Nuriyev.
Cooperation between the EU and Azerbaijan is developing successfully and Baku is a reliable partner of the EU, the message of the presidential administration.
The parties exchanged views on the prospects for cooperation in the field of transport, green energy, digital technologies, science, education, etc. It was noted that the European Union is ready to support Azerbaijan's efforts to mine, restore and rehabilitate the liberated territories.
The importance of the TAP (Trans-Adriatic Gas Pipeline) project for the energy security of the European Union was also noted.
The European Union will also support the Baku International Sea Trade Port within the framework of the Eastern Partnership economic and investment plan, Varheyi wrote in his microblog on Twitter.
"As one of the main initiatives within the framework of the economic and investment plan, the Baku port will receive EU support for trans-Caspian economic integration in order to become a center for sustainable and accelerated transportation of goods and services," Varheyi said. He also noted that the European Union will continue cooperation with the Baku International Sea Trade Port within the framework of digitalization projects and turning it into a "green port" .— 06D-
