European Court for Human Rights passad a number of decisions on complaints from Azerbaijan
Baku/14.01.21/Turan: On January 14, the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) announced a number of decisions on complaints by members of the opposition Popular Front and Musavat parties from Azerbaijan. All of them were satisfied, lawyer Khalid Agaliyev said.
In particular, the complaint of Turan Ibrahimov (son of PFNA Deputy Chairman Mamed Ibrahim) on violation of Article 6 (1) (fair trial) of the ECHR Convention was satisfied.
The Azerbaijani government must pay the applicant € 4,100.
The European Court recognized the same violation of Article 6 (1) on the complaint of Jabbar Savalanli (activist of the PFPA youth organization of Sumgayit). The Government must pay the first applicant EUR 4,350.
The same violation was recognized on the complaint of Fariz Mammadov, but the court did not establish compensation for him.
In two other appeals, the ECHR declared the complaints inadmissible. These are the complaints of Yadigar Sadigly (Musavat activist from Lankaran), who was arrested in 2013 on charges of hooliganism and sentenced to six years in prison. Then international human rights organizations recognized him as a prisoner of conscience.
The European Court also rejected the complaint of Mamed Gurbanov and Nadir Mammadov, who complained about the violation of their rights by the customs officers of Nakhchivan in 2013. They were arrested on charges of resisting a government official. -16B-
