"European Policy Community" summit begins in Britain
The fourth summit of the "European Political Community" opened in Britain on 18 July.
According to the British Prime Minister's office, 45 European leaders, as well as representatives of the NATO, the OSCE and the Council of Europe will take part in it. The key topics of the summit are the conflict in Ukraine, energy security, migration, and the goal is to "maintain unity in response to conflict and instability within Europe and close to its borders."
Recall that the "European Political Community" (EPC) has existed since May 2022. Its creation was initiated by France.
Note that the community holds summits twice a year, inviting leaders of 44 countries, including Armenia, Azerbaijan, Britain, Georgia, Georgia, Moldova, Turkey, Ukraine. The EPC summits have been held successively in the Czech Republic, Moldova and Spain.
The summit agenda is as follows: first, an opening plenary session, followed by three round-tables on migration, energy and communications, and protection and safeguarding of democracy; the summit will conclude with a closing plenary session.
The EPC meeting comes a week after the NATO summit in Washington, where Ukraine was also one of the key topics.
The leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan also attend the summit. It is possible they will have a belateral meeting.
