Ex-Minister of National Security summoned for questioning to Prosecutor General's Office
Baku / 04.11.17 / Turan: Former head of the disbanded Ministry of National Security Eldar Mahmudov was summoned to the Prosecutor General's Office for interrogation, according to the head of the press service of this department Eldar Sultanov. According to him, earlier on the charge of extortion, misappropriation, abuse of office, service forgery as part of an organized group, an ex-ministerial assistant, Lieutenant-Colonel Vugar Makhmudov, who was also deputy head of the Anti-Terror Department, was arrested for 4 months by a court decision.
According to Sultanov, Eldar Mahmudov was summoned to the Office of the General Prosecutor for Serious Crimes for questioning on the above charges.
In October 2015, Eldar Mahmudov was dismissed from his post, and a lawsuit was filed against 21 senior officers of the MNS in the commission of grave and particularly serious crimes, including kidnapping, racketeering, extortion, misappropriation of large-scale government funds, illegal wiretapping, etc. . Nevertheless, Eldar Makhmudov himself did not touch the investigation so far. -03D-
