Foreign Ministry replied to Pashinyan - Azerbaijan acts in accordance with the UN Charter
Baku/04.10.20/Turan: In his address to the Armenian people on October 3, the Prime Minister of Armenia again demonstrated that he is far from taking steps to restore peace in the region.
Traditionally exposing lies and slander, he again tried to justify his aggressive policy and present the Armenian people as a victim of this policy, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Continuing the illegal presence of the Armenian armed forces in Nagorno-Karabakh and adjacent regions of Azerbaijan and ignoring the demands of the international community, including the UN Security Council resolutions on ending the occupation, the current leadership of Armenia is trying to cover up its aggressive policy, adding a religious connotation to this issue.
“What the Armenian leadership says about Turkey’s continued participation in regional operations has only one goal - to involve third parties in the conflict. We remind you that the Azerbaijani army is sufficiently prepared to ensure its territorial integrity within its international borders and has been conducting counterattacks since July 27, based on Article 51 of the UN Charter, to prevent new aggression by Armenia,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
As for the nonsensical statements of the Prime Minister of Armenia about the “implementation” of the “Armenian genocide” policy by Azerbaijan, unlike Armenia, which committed the Khojaly genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity, the Azerbaijani side is taking countermeasures and, in accordance with international humanitarian law, does not aim on civilians.
The armed forces of Azerbaijan are rightly fighting to ensure territorial integrity in their sovereign territories and within internationally recognized borders. All steps taken by the Armenian leadership to cover up their direct responsibility for the situation in the region are doomed to failure. — 06B--
