G. Ibadoglu is subjected to torture in the detention center, which worsens his nervous condition - Galib Bayramov
Baku/27.08.23/Turan: On Saturday, August 26, Gubad Ibadoglu, a scientist-economist kept in a pre-trial detention center in the village of Kurdakhani, was allowed to meet with his brother Galib Bayramov. The meeting took place in a special room in the presence of a security guard, the conversation was conducted via an internal telephone connection, those who communicated saw each other through a glass partition, Bayramov said on a social network.
The guard did not allow the brothers to communicate for more than 30 minutes, which caused a protest by Ibvdoglu, who reminded the guard of his right to communicate with his family for several hours.
Bayramov noticed signs of aggravation of chronic diseases on his brother's face. “Shadows lay under my brother’s eyes, the puffiness of his face did not go away. Apparently, this is a consequence of kidney disease, aggravated by heavy air and inactive prisoners in the cell. A swelling near the thyroid gland (goiter) is noticeable, signs of a nervous system disorder are showing. Blood pressure still has not returned to normal , blood sugar and heart rate," he said.
Bayramov attributes the worsening of the professor's condition to the constant electric lighting of the cell at night. "A burning light bulb keeps an exhausted prisoner with a nervous system disorder from sleeping. This leads to chronic fatigue and headaches."
Bayramov believes that the illumination of the cell at night is used as physical torture against the prisoner Gubad Ibadoglu.
On July 24, the Narimanov District Court of Baku arrested Gubad Ibadoglu for 3 months and 26 days on charges of making counterfeit money. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan said that Ibadoglu is connected with supporters of Fethullah Gülen, who is accused of attempting a coup in 2016 in Turkey. On August 25, he was charged with another charge of "manufacturing, storing or distributing religious extremist materials."
Gubad Ibadoglu denies the accusations, considering them absurd. Many international organizations and officials called on official Baku to immediately release the politician.-0-
