Georgia will not act against the interests of Azerbaijan
Tbilisi/08.11.12/Turan-BS PRESS: Georgia will never take steps against the interests of Azerbaijan, said the State Minister of Georgia for Reintegration Zakareishvili at a press conference on November 7, commenting on the opinions of experts on the initiative of the Azerbaijani Tbilisi to resume train service to Russia through the Abkhaz section.
Earlier Zakareishvili said that the restoration of railway communication with Russia through the Abkhaz section fits into the concept of the new Georgian government deizolyatsii Abkhazia. Some Azerbaijani experts have expressed concern that the railway can be used for the transit of Russian military cargo to Armenia.
"Restoration of the railway so far is only a topic for discussion, and one of the initiatives ... The issue has not been specifically addressed," said Zakareishvili. At the same time, he stressed that "Azerbaijan is a strategic partner of Georgia"
"Georgia will not do steps that would be contrary to the public interest of Azerbaijan," said Zakareishvili. -02D-
