Georgy Vanyan was hospitalized in Tbilisi
Baku/12.10.21/Turan: On October 9, a well-known Armenian human rights activist, Georgy Vanyan was hospitalized in a Tbilisi hospital. For the last 10 days he has been in self-isolation in the Georgian capital, for he was diagnosed with coronavirus.
According to Georgian media, Vanyan has both lungs affected with chronic pneumonia. Currently he is in the intensive care unit. It is impossible to contact him personally. According to his colleagues, Vanyan was alone in Tbilisi and there is no one near him.
It should be noted that in recent years Vanyan lived in the Noembryan region and earned a living by working as a taxi driver, delivering clients from Armenia to Georgia and the North Caucasus.
Apparently, he got infected from a client. For the last 10 days he had been in self-isolation in Tbilisi where he felt bad.
Georgy Vanyan is known for actively calling on his compatriots to reconcile with the Azerbaijanis. The Tekali process he founded was a place of meetings and discussions of representatives of the public of three countries: Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan. Also, he was the first in Armenia to condemn the genocide in Khojaly. -02D-
