German Authorities Release Member of Musavat ECC
Baku / 08.01.20 / Turan: Mehdi Khalilbeyli, member of the Musavat European Coordination Center, was released from custody in Germany.
He was among the 8 Azerbaijanis against whom a criminal case was launched last November in connection with charges of organizing illegal migration.
The case was launched on the complaint of Azerbaijani citizen Rashad Mammadov, the driver of Khalilbeyli.
According to basta2.com, Khalilbeyli was released at the very first meeting of the Koblenz court on acquittal grounds.
The “case of illegal migration” caused a great resonance in Azerbaijan. The pro-government media and some political émigrés hastened to accuse the Musavat party and other opposition forces of Azerbaijan of involvement in this case.— 06D-
