Have Baku and Yerevan reached agreement on border delimitation?
Baku/17.09.21/Turan: Today, several official sources in Armenia made it clear that following the talks in Moscow, Azerbaijan and Armenia agreed to start the process of delimitation and demarcation.
So, the head of the parliamentary committee on defense and security of Armenia at a briefing in Yerevan confirmed that negotiations on the border are being held. “We must make the process of easing tensions and strengthening peace irreversible,” Kocharian said, without going into details.
Following him, Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Mher Grigoryan told journalists about the need for delimitation and demarcation of the border.
“I think it is necessary to start a certain process,” he said, commenting on the call of the press secretary of the Russian Foreign Ministry Zakharova about the need to start delimiting the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
A number of Armenian media also reported on the clauses of the future agreement, which supposedly imply the following: The future peace treaty does not fix any status of Karabakh, the borders are determined by maps of the USSR times, the stay of Russian peacekeepers is being extended, the road through Zangezur is opened and Azerbaijan will pay for travel transport.
Official Baku does not comment on these messages in any way, as well as the very fact of negotiations in Moscow. -02B-
