Head of Armenia’s Security Service Dismissed
Baku / 08.10.20 / Turan: Director of the National Security Service of Armenia Argishti Kyaramyan has been relieved of his post, Armenian media reported at noon on October 8.
Mikael Hambardzumyan has been appointed Acting Acting Director of the National Security Service.
The 29-year-old Kyaramyan worked in the position for only four months. Local observers associated his appointment with the need to purge pro-Russian-minded cadres.
It is noteworthy that the dismissal took place during the period of a large-scale war. This can be interpreted as an acknowledgment of the failure of the Armenian special services or a gesture to Moscow. -02D-

Azerbaijan is positioning itself as a key energy partner for Europe amidst growing challenges in the natural gas market following the cessation of Russian gas transit through Ukraine. The disruption, marking the end of a decade-long transit route, is expected to heighten competition in the global liquefied natural gas (LNG) market and drive up prices for alternative energy sources.
