Hikmet Hajiyev and Mircea Geoană
Baku/18.05.21/Turan: Assistant to the Head of State for Foreign Policy Hikmet Hajiyev held a meeting with NATO Deputy Secretary General Mircea Geoană in Brussels on 17 May. Details of the meeting were not disclosed.
On the same day, Hajiyev had a meeting with European Commissioner for Enlargement Oliver Varhelyi.
According to Varhelyi's Twitter account at the meeting they discussed cooperation between the European Union and Azerbaijan, providing help to the Karabakh region, the potential of the TAP gas pipeline.-0-

Journalist Nargiz Abaslamova, held in Baku's Detention Center No. 1, was subjected to violence by a guard. While passing by the cell of her colleague Sevinj Vagifgizi, Abaslamova tried to greet her, reported on Abzas Media's Facebook page. However, guard Aygul Babaeva forcibly dragged Abaslamova away and deeply scratched the journalist's arm. Abaslamova stated that this is not the first time the mentioned guard has used force and been rude to journalists. A few days ago, Babaeva also used force against Sevinj Vagifgizi.
