I. Aliyev from Khankandi called on Armenians to remember the day of October 15 and not dream of revenge
Baku/15.10.23/Turan: “Today is a historic day. We have been waiting for it for more than 30 years and each of us believed that this day would come.” Head of State Ilham Aliyev said this on October 15 in the central square of the city of Khankandi, after raising the flag of Azerbaijan there.
“The anti-terrorist operation on September 19-20 was inevitable. But we wanted to resolve the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict peacefully. For 17 years I personally participated in numerous meaningless and fruitless negotiations. Because he believed that the issue should be resolved peacefully. But hopes were fading. Today I can say with complete confidence that the Armenians did not intend to return an inch of land to us. The mediators who dealt with this issue actually wanted to freeze the conflict, they wanted to make the conflict eternal,” Aliyev said.
“When our lands were occupied, not a single country supported us or provided any moral support. All major powers supported Armenia, and today’s history is repeating itself once again,” he continued.
“There was a time when Azerbaijanis and Armenians lived in friendly conditions not only in Khankendi, Karabakh, Baku, Ganja, Yerevan, Goycha, Zangezur and other places. In Karabakh, the Armenians lived well and no one oppressed them.
The nationalist movement and separatism were fueled from Armenia. Emissaries from Yerevan came and organized a nationalist movement for the separation of Karabakh from Azerbaijan.”
Pointing to the building where the separatist leaders were sitting, Aliyev said:
“Some of those who sat in high chairs in this building are now in prison in Baku. There was a time when they threatened us that their tanks would enter Baku and they would drink tea there. They turned out to be right and their tanks are now in the War Trophy Park, and they themselves are drinking tea in prison.
Three clowns who called themselves “presidents” sat here, they threatened and insulted us. Now they are awaiting their fate in prison, together with the “minister of state” who promised to achieve independence for Karabakh. This should be a lesson for everyone. For those who dream of revenge in Armenia today. Remember what happened!
The flag I raise today will fly here forever, and we will live here forever. Karabakh is ours, Karabakh is Azerbaijan!”, said Ilham Aliyev. -0-
