I. Mammadov and T. Yagublu faced criminal charges
Deputy Chairman of "Musavat", Tofig Yagublu, has been formally charged in connection with the riots in Ismailli region on January 23-24.
In particular, he is charged under Article 233 of the Criminal Code (organization of actions aimed at violation of public order or participation in them.)
Investigation Department of Serious Crimes Prosecutor General Office has made a submission to the Nasimi District Court about the arrest of Yagublu for two months, said the lawyer of the opposition member, Nemat Karimi. If Yagublu's fault is proven , he may be imprisoned for three years.
Earlier, Tofig Yagublu's elder daughter , Nigar yagublu , was sentenced to four years in prison
for the road accident; she is also an activist of "Musavat" party.
Tofig Yagublu is a veteran of the Karabakh war. Apparently, other oppositionists, Ilgar Mamedov, is charged with similar accusation; he has been questioned in the Prosecutor Office since morning.-16B06-
