Ilham Aliyev and Serzh Sargsyan held a brief conversation in The Hague
Baku/27.03.14/Turan : As part of the Nuclear Security Summit held March 24-25 in The Hague there was held a brief meeting between the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev and Serzh Sargsyan. This was reported on the Twitter page of the U.S. OSCE Minsk Group James Warlick.
The American diplomat praised the meeting of the Presidents and expressed the belief that they are determined to reach a settlement.
Recall that in The Hague also met Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia.
In addition, the two Presidents met separately with OSCE MG Cochairmen.

On January 13, the trial in the case of public activist Nijat Ibrahim continued in the Baku Serious Crimes Court under the chairmanship of Judge Aygun Gurbanova. The International Committee of Concerned Scholars (ICS) has appealed to the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, requesting his assistance in securing the release of the arrested researcher, Igbal Abilov. The ICS expressed concern that Abilov's arrest "may be related to his research on ethnic minorities in Azerbaijan, conducted in collaboration with scholars from Armenia."
