Ilham Aliyev awards Paralympians with orders and medals, as well as cash prizes
Baku/06.09.21/Turan: President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on awarding Azerbaijani Paralympians who distinguished themselves at the games in Tokyo with orders and medals.
Swimmer Raman Saleh (Salei), who won three gold medals, was awarded the Order of Shohrat (Glory).
The same award got spear-maker Hamid Heydari, who set a world record at the games, and shot putter Elvin Astanov, who broke the Paralympics record.
The Order "For Service to the Fatherland", 1st degree, was awarded to nine other champions of the games and one four-time prize-winner.
Three bronze medalists were awarded the Order for Service to the Fatherland, 3rd degree.
Paralympic trainers have been awarded the 3rd Class Emek Order and the Tereggi Medal.
In addition, the head of state awarded cash prizes to the Paralympians who won prizes in Tokyo.
So, gold medalists will receive 200 thousand manats (coach - 100 thousand manats), silver medalists - 100 thousand manats (coach - 50 thousand manats), bronze medalists - 50 thousand manats (coach - 25 thousand manats) ).
At the Paralympic Games in Tokyo, Azerbaijan won 14 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze medals. In the team event, the Azerbaijani national team took 9th place among 162 teams. -06D-
