Ilham Aliyev congratulated Palestine on National Holiday
President Ilham Aliyev has sent a congratulatory letter to the "President of Palestine" Mahmoud Abbas on the occasion of the National Day on November 15.
The congratulatory message notes that the establishment of the Azerbaijani diplomatic mission in Palestine in 2022 is a positive step towards the development of bilateral relations.
"The issue of building a school in Palestine is also on our agenda," the message says.
Aliyev expressed hope that tensions in the Gaza Strip will be eliminated in the near future.
"Azerbaijan has always shown solidarity with the Palestinian issue and supports the solution of the problem on the basis of the two-state principle, in line with relevant UN resolutions and decisions.
Our country will continue to support the UN Middle East Agency for Palestinian Refugees in the Middle East. I believe that friendly relations and cooperation between our countries, which have good traditions, will continue to develop successfully," the congratulation reads.
* On April 15, 1992, a protocol on the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and the Palestinian National Authority was signed.
