Ilham Aliyev Congratulates Orthodox Christian Community on Christmas
Baku / 06.01.21 / Turan: Head of State Ilham Aliyev congratulated the Orthodox Christians of Azerbaijan on Christmas. His holiday address to Orthodox Christians says:
“I cordially congratulate the entire Christian community of Azerbaijan on Holy Christmas and convey to each of you my most sincere wishes.
2020 was marked by the settlement of the Karabakh conflict, which had lasted for many years, ensuring our territorial integrity and the victory of historical justice. All citizens of Azerbaijan, regardless of language, religion, ethnicity, including our compatriots professing Christianity, who occupy their place in our ethnoculturally diverse society, have shown true heroism in the liberation of our lands from enemy occupation, at the same time they were actively fighting with Armenian fascism on the information front and in bringing the right voice of our people to the world community. I regard unity and equality, inviolable national and moral solidarity, shown by all peoples living in our country in the holy Patriotic War, as the most important factor that determined our historic victory, ”the address reads.
“I am confident that the Orthodox Christian community will continue to exert all efforts and skills in the name of progress and building up the power of Azerbaijan, which is our common home,” the head of state said. -02D-
