Ilham Aliyev did not rule out the creation of a Turkish military base in Azerbaijan
Baku / 15.10.20 / Turan: The issue of creating a Turkish military base in Azerbaijan has not yet been discussed, President Ilham Aliyev said in an interview with the Turkish television channel NTV.
Azerbaijan and Turkey cooperate actively and fruitfully in the military sphere. In addition, there is a mutual assistance agreement.
“This is our right and if necessary, if there is a big threat to Azerbaijan, we will use this opportunity, because Turkey is our ally,” he said.
The head of state also stressed that from year to year military cooperation between the two countries is constantly increasing. Last year alone, 10 joint exercises were held.
