Ilham Aliyev on Relations with Paris
Baku / 15.10.20 /Turan: Official Baku is satisfied with the statement of French Foreign Minister Le Drian that his country, as a co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, will remain neutral.
“France, as a co-chair, will remain neutral, as this is the mandate of the co-chair. This morning, I was informed that the French Foreign Minister said that France should remain neutral, as it is the co-chair of the Minsk Group. We fully support this position,” Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said in an interview with France 24 TV channel.
According to him, in relations with Paris "there are no more questions, and we have closed this page." Aliyev also called the last telephone conversation with President Macron "positive".
“President Macron called me several times and our last conversation was very positive. We are committed to efforts aimed at finding a political solution to the conflict,” Aliyev stressed.
On the first days of hostilities, which began at the end of September, Azerbaijan was very dissatisfied with the one-sided position of Paris, and the unfounded allegations of President Macron about the transfer of militants from Syria to the conflict zone for a war on the side of Azerbaijan. — 06D-

Azerbaijan is positioning itself as a key energy partner for Europe amidst growing challenges in the natural gas market following the cessation of Russian gas transit through Ukraine. The disruption, marking the end of a decade-long transit route, is expected to heighten competition in the global liquefied natural gas (LNG) market and drive up prices for alternative energy sources.
