Ilham Aliyev Promises Cultural Figures to Solve Their Problems
Baku / 02.03.19 / Turan: The Ministry of Culture and the Presidential Administration will be entrusted to study and analyze all the requests and appeals made at the meeting with cultural figures. They will be issued as a program and gradually resolved, President Ilham Aliyev said on Friday, summing up the meeting with a large group of cultural figures.
Note that the requests were mainly material in nature - salaries, apartments, project support, etc.
Aliyev also spoke of the need to build housing for young cultural figures and their support from the state.
Aliyev reacted positively to the proposal to streamline television programs and create Art Councils on TV channels to control the quality and content of the programs.
He confirmed the state"s readiness to raise salaries for theater workers and provide material and technical support to all theaters in the country. Aliyev also supported the proposal for the state to finance the filming of feature films and to establish a monument to the patron of the arts Haji Zeynalabdin Tagiyev in Baku.
Aliyev welcomed the idea of creating a single central region of Baku, uniting 3-4 districts. -02D-

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) today issued five rulings on applications from Azerbaijan. The case of "Afgan Mammadov v. Azerbaijan" concerned the complainant's exclusion from the Bar Association. Mammadov was expelled based on a complaint filed by a colleague, which he considered unjust. The ECHR ruled that Mammadov's rights had been violated and ordered Azerbaijan to pay him €5,000 in compensation for moral damage and €1,000 to cover legal costs.
