Ilham Aliyev and Nechirvan Barzani
Baku/18.07.23/Turan: Today President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Nechirvan Barzani, head of Iraqi Kurdistan, who is on a visit to AzerbaijanNechirvan Barzani.
As the website of the head of state reminds, Aliyev met with Barzani in February this year as part of the Munich Security Conference.
At that time, "effective discussions were held to determine the main areas of cooperation."
During the current meeting, Aliyev noted with satisfaction the visit of Iraqi President Abdullatif Jamal Rashid to Azerbaijan in March this year within the framework of the Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement and the discussions he held with him on the development of bilateral relations.
Aliyev and Barzani discussed issues of expanding economic and trade relations with the Kurdistan region of Iraq, in particular, increasing investments, cooperation in the field of energy, increasing opportunities for ties in the field of tourism, opening direct flights and other issues. -06B-
