Intense battles continued all night
Baku/10.10.20/Turan: The combat operations of various intensity continued from the afternoon on October 9 until the morning of October 10 along the entire length of the front. Fire strikes were inflicted on the enemy.
As a result of the continued offensive operation by the Azerbaijan Army, during this period, a large number of enemy manpower, 13 tanks, 4 MLRS BM-21 "Grad", 6 D-20 and D-30 howitzers, 3 self-propelled artillery mounts 2S3 "Akatsiya", 2 M55 "Zastava" anti-aircraft guns, 2 radar stations and electronic warfare equipment were destroyed and disabled by the precise fire. "Many pieces of the enemy’s military equipment have been destroyed and seized in today's battles. I can say that the Armenian army has suffered a major blow since 27 September. I would simply like to bring to your attention the list of Armenia’s destroyed and seized military equipment and hardware – 16 command posts, 196 tanks, 38 BM-21, one “Hurricane”, 10 self-propelled artillery units, including eight “Acacia”, two “Qvozdika”, 36 infantry fighting vehicles, 24 artillery batteries, 2 RM or air defense installations, two launch facilities of the “S-300” complex, 25 OSA anti-aircraft missile systems, two “Cube” anti-aircraft missile systems, four “Repellent” radio-technical barrier installation, 136 cannons, 56 mortars, one TOS-1A flame thrower, two radar stations, one “Kalchuga” antenna. In addition, 18 tanks, four artillery pieces, 22 infantry fighting vehicles, 12 mortars, four UAZ trucks, one excavators, 27 “Igla” complexes, one ZIL truck and nine GAZ trucks have been seized", - said President Ilham Aliyev on October 9 in his address to the people. -0-

In a case that is disappointing but not surprising, the agreement between the government of Azerbaijan and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) for hosting the climate conference COP29, is replete with significant shortcomings and ambiguities on the protections for participants’ rights. Human Rights Watch has obtained a copy of this host country agreement, signed in August 2024, which has yet to be made public.
