Iran planned to kill Israelis in Cyprus - Israeli authorities
Baku/04.10.21/Turan: The Israeli authorities reported an attempted terrorist attack against a group of citizens of this country in Cyprus. The terrorist attack was organized by Iran, Matan Sidi, spokesman for the Prime Minister of Israel, said on October 4.
On October 3, the Cypriot media reported that a man who was supposed to shoot a group of Israeli businessmen, including billionaire Teddy Sagi, was arrested.
The potential killer is a 38-year-old Azerbaijani citizen who entered Cyprus with a Russian passport. He had a pistol with a silencer.
"In connection with the incident in Cyprus, I consider it necessary to clarify on behalf of the security services that this is a terrorist act planned by Iran and directed against Israeli businessmen living in Cyprus," media quoted the press secretary of the Israeli prime minister.
The name of the arrested person was not disclosed. It is also not reported how he is associated with Iran. -02D-
