Iranian Foreign Minister called Jeyhun Bayramov
Baku/14.09.22/Turan: On September 14, Iranian Foreign Minister Hussein Amir-Abdullahian called Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov. Bayramov informed the Iranian Foreign Minister "about the next large-scale provocations of Armenia against Azerbaijan," the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry reported.
Stressing that the Azerbaijani Armed Forces took retaliatory measures and repulsed the aggression, 50 Azerbaijani soldiers were killed.
The provocation by Armenia seriously harms the peace process, when restoration work is carried out in the liberated territories, as well as attempts are made to normalize relations between the two states.
Amir-Abdullahian, expressing concern about the escalation of tension between Azerbaijan and Armenia, declared the inadmissibility of a new confrontation in the region.
He noted that the territorial integrity of the countries of the region and the inviolability of their international borders are important for Iran. Tehran supports the resolution of the issues between Azerbaijan and Armenia through peaceful negotiations, and Iran is ready to help in this matter. The ministers also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest. --06B--
