Iranian Foreign Minister calls for resumption of flights between Iran and Azerbaijan
Tehran/22.11.21/Turan: Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian met with Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev in Tehran on November 21 evening. The sides discussed issues of bilateral cooperation and developments in the Caucasus region, Irna news agency reported.
Note that Abdollahian expressed satisfaction with the growing trend of trade relations between the two countries and close ties, stressing the importance of transport, energy and tourism.
Noting Iran's capabilities, the Minister said Iranian companies are ready to participate in the reconstruction of recently liberated territories. He also called to facilitate communication between citizens of Iran and Azerbaijan and to resume flights between the two countries.
It should be recalled that civil aviation flights were interrupted due to the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic in 2020. Iran subsequently banned flights of Azerbaijani aircraft through its territory to Nakhchivan. This happened after the aggravation of bilateral relations in September 2021.--0--
