Iran's Foreign Ministry Unhappy with the Expulsion of Iranian Students from Baku
On Friday, Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Tehran, Ali Alizadeh, was invited to the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he met with the Assistant Foreign Minister and Director General for Eurasian Affairs, Mojtaba Demirchi.
According to the MEHR agency, Demirchi addressed the "negative actions by certain circles and individuals against a number of Iranian students studying in Azerbaijan." He called this harmful to relations between the two nations, expressed the protest of the Iranian side, and urged the punishment of those responsible for such actions. Demirchi also emphasized the need to "firmly combat any insults" directed at religious figures.
It is worth noting that recently, around 10 Iranian students from the Medical University in Baku were expelled from the country for immoral behavior.
Additionally, a religious leader from the city of Ardabil, who organized an event where the leadership of Azerbaijan was insulted, was sharply criticized in Azerbaijan's state media.
