The assessments of the Committee on Education, Culture and Sports of the Knesset (parliament) of Israel in Ottoman Turkey  1915 events did not coincide with the estimates of the Israeli Foreign Ministry.

According to Foreign Ministry spokesman Emmanuel Nahshon, the Committee's decision does not reflect the official position of the State of Israel. According to him, this is just a personal opinion of the Committee members.

"Israel does not agree with the statements of Armenians on the events of 1915 and this will not change," quotes the representative of the Israeli Foreign Ministry agency "Anadolu".

Yesterday the head of the Committee for Education, Culture and Sport Yakov Margi said that "it  is our moral obligation to recognize the Armenian Genocide."
