Izmir Shocked by Rally against Erdogan
Baku / 06/22/18 / Turan: About 2.5 million gathered for today's rally in the city of Izmir, whose members do not want to see Erdogan as the head of Turkey.
Participants of the rally support the candidate of the opposition People's Republican Party, Muharrem Ince, in the upcoming presidential election on June 24.
This is the most massive action of opponents of Erdogan, whose rating has significantly decreased in recent weeks. The main reason is the economic crisis, which deepens every day and a sharp drop in the lira against the dollar and the euro.
As noted by local analysts, the main reason for the decline of the lira is Erdogan's erroneous economic policy. Against this background, investments are sharply reduced, and international financial institutions expect further collapse and weakening of the Turkish currency. -02B-
