Jeyhun Bayramov received Philip Reeker
Baku/14.09.22/Turan: On Wednesday, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov received the chief adviser of the U.S. State Department on negotiations in the Caucasus, Philip Reeker. The tense situation in the region and possible steps to return to the normalization process was discussed, the press service of the Foreign Ministry.
Bayramov reported on the clashes on September 12-13 on the border with Armenia, and the destructive steps of the Armenian side in recent months. He also drew attention to the fact that the termination on September 13 was violated by Armenia just a few hours later.
According to Bayramov, Azerbaijan is carrying out restoration work in the region and has come up with peace initiatives, therefore it is not interested in aggravating the situation. He stressed the importance of Yerevan fulfilling its obligations and completely withdrawing the Armenian Armed Forces from the territory of Azerbaijan.
In turn, Reeker expressed concern about the tension on the border, emphasizing the importance of stabilizing the situation. The United States supports resolution all differences by political and diplomatic means, and the American side is ready to support the normalization process with all its might.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on aspects of the normalization process, the necessary steps in this direction and other issues of mutual interest. --16D--
