Journalist Shamsad Aga Detained by Police in Late Night Raid
Journalist Shamsad Aga was detained by police during the late hours, his brother Shahid Agayev reported to Voice of America.
"At around 2 AM, an investigator accompanied by 7-8 masked police officers knocked on our door. When we opened the door, they stormed in and began searching the house. They confiscated Shamsad's old phone, my phone, memory cards, several old disks, a computer, a modem, and Shamsad’s press credentials. They then drew up a protocol. Shamsad only mentioned that he was being detained and did not specify the charges," Shahid Agayev told Voice of America.
Last year on July 5, Shamsad Aga, head of the news site argument.az, was questioned as a witness at the Baku City Chief Police Department in relation to the "Toplum TV case." Authorities verbally informed him of a travel ban, barring him from leaving the country.

Arresting journalists, political and social activists, intellectuals and pious religious people are not signs of strength of a government, on the contrary, it showed that the foundation of the government and states is on a shaky ground. The tyrannical government in Baku is not sure about its future, and act like a mad dog. It is a shame in 21st century a man can inherits the highest office in the land from his father, what a backward country?! Guys, learn from Georgia, Armenia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and even Uzbekistan! Aliyev uses every tricks in his sinister book to stay in power until his son is ready to take over, like what his father did for him and like what has happened in Turkmenistan! you guys are far better than this, stand up against tyranny and support the human right activists, intellectuals and pious religious people to change the status quo.
