London names new ambassador to Azerbaijan
Baku/25.04.22/Turan: On Monday, the British Foreign Office (Office for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs) announced the name of the new ambassador to Azerbaijan who will start his activity in Azerbaijan in August. His name is Fergus Old, who will replace James Sharp.
The official press release says that Old has been studying the Azerbaijani language for the past year. A career diplomat since 1999, Old has worked in the countries of Southeast Asia (India, Bangkok, Thailand), held a number of senior positions in the Foreign Ministry, and also worked as political advisers to the British Embassy in Moscow. -16D-
