Meeting of chiefs of General Staff of Azerbaijan and Russia
Baku / 06.02.20 / Turan: On February 6, a meeting of the Chiefs of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan and Russia - Najmeddin Sadykov and Valery Gerasimov took place in Baku.
According to the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense, the parties discussed problems of international and regional security, as well as pressing issues of military and military-technical cooperation, including the interaction of defense departments in the Caspian.
Prior to this, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Gerasimov, the report said.
Recall that Gerasimov arrived in Baku to meet and negotiate with the commander of the combined forces of NATO in Europe Tod Walters. -02D-

On January 15, the Tbilisi Court of Appeals rejected the appeal of Afghan Sadigov, the founder of the Azel TV website, who had protested his extradition to Azerbaijan. On January 15, the Yasamal District Court rejected the motion to change the detention measure for Azer Gasymly, the director of the Institute of Political Management, his lawyer, Agyl Laidj, to Turan. "Azer Gasymly stated during the trial that the charges against him were fabricated and related to his socio-political activities," the lawyer said. An appeal will be filed against the court's decision.
