Military Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan qualified death of border guard as "suicide"
Baku/10.07.23/Turan: Kenan Bakiyev, a soldier of the military unit of the State Border Service of Azerbaijan stationed in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR), died as a result of a firearm shot.
The Nakhchivan Military Prosecutor's Office initiated a criminal case on the death of the soldier under Article 125 (suicide) of the Criminal Code, the Military Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan told Turan.
At present, the investigation is ongoing, all measures will be taken in line with the requirements of the legislation, the Military Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan said.
The death of soldier Bakiyev was at least the 4th case of non-combat losses among servicemen in Azerbaijan over the past month.
Thus, on June 19, the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan reported the suicide of soldier of the military police, Farid Azizov. On June 17, the State Border Service of Azerbaijan reported the suicide of senior sergeant Parviz Hajiyev, and on June 10, junior ensign Rakhil Akhmedov died in one of the military units, which was also qualified as the suicide.-06B-
