Ministry of Internal Affairs on the success of the fight against crime in 2022
Baku/23.01.23/Turan: On January 23, a meeting of the Board was held at the Ministry of Internal Affairs on the results of the fight against crime in 2022. Minister Vilayat Eyvazov said in his report that last year 36,494 crimes were recorded, of which 83.4% were insignificant and not dangerous, Interior Ministry's press service.
According to him, 89.7% of the total number of crimes have been solved. 85.3% of grave and especially grave crimes, 85.7% of crimes committed under unclear circumstances, 98.2% of crimes against a person and 81.8% of crimes against property were solved.
The meeting noted that in 2022, crimes against the person decreased by 2.4%, including attempted murder, infliction of intentional bodily harm, with the use of firearms, due to family conflict.
Eyvazov said that 251 criminal groups had been neutralized, 202 persons carrying firearms had been prosecuted, and 557 wanted persons had been arrested. The minister stressed that in 2022, compared to 2021, by 373 kg more drugs were withdrawn from illegal circulation - 3 tons 418 kg.
