New ambassadors of Azerbaijan appointed in number of countries
Baku/18.10.22/Turan: On October 18, by the order of the head of state, Jafar Huseynzade was appointed head of the Azerbaijani representation to NATO. Samad Hasanov has been appointed Azerbaijani Ambassador to Lebanon. By another order, Agasalim Shukurov was recalled from this post.
Rashad Aslanov has been appointed Azerbaijani Ambassador to Italy. By another order, Mammad Ahmedzadeh was recalled from this position, as well as from the post of ambassador to the Republic of San Marino, the Republic of Malta and Azerbaijan's permanent representative to the UNDP, the World Food Programme, the UN International Fund for Agricultural Development.
Nazim Samadov has been appointed Ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco. By another order, Oktay Gurbanov was recalled from this post and from the post of ambassador to Mauritania, Senegal, Mali, Portugal, Tunisia and representative of Azerbaijan to the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO).
Anar Imanov has been appointed Ambassador to Croatia.
Shovgi Mehdizadeh has been appointed Ambassador to Vietnam. --02D--

On November 19, the Sabail District Court of Baku granted the prosecution's request to extend the pretrial detention of Talysh researcher Iqbal Abilov for another four months, his lawyer, Rovshan Rahimov reported. According to the lawyer, the defense considers Abilov’s detention to be unjustified and disputes the charges brought against him. Abilov himself also rejected the accusations. The defense plans to file an appeal against the court's decision.

On November 19, a debate titled "No Climate Justice Without Space and Meaningful Participation" took place as part of COP29. The event was organized by Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, and a number of other human rights organizations.
