New Iranian Ambassador presented copies of credentials to Azerbaijani Foreign Minister
Baku / 07.09.20 / Turan: The newly appointed Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Seyid Abbas Musevi, handed copies of his credentials to the country's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov today.
During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of developing "friendly, fraternal" relations based on deep historical roots between the two countries.
They exchanged views on ways to implement the issues on the cooperation agenda, and to continue interaction on multilateral platforms.
The Iranian Ambassador pointed to the great potential for deepening bilateral relations.
Bayramov, pointing out the ongoing aggression of Armenia against Azerbaijan, thanked Iran for the constant support of Baku's fair position on the settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict based on the norms and principles of international law.
Musevi stressed that Iran supports the position of Azerbaijan in connection with the occupation of the country's territories and announced Tehran's intention to assist in the settlement of the conflict.
The parties also discussed other issues of mutual interest.
Prior to this appointment, Musevi was the official spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry. —06D-
