New York Times publication coincides with Patrushevs visit to Baku
Baku/06.09.19/Turan: The leading American newspaper, The New York Times, published sensational news that Israeli drones took off from Azerbaijan and spied on Iran. When exactly this took place, the material does not say.
"American spy satellites watched Israeli drones take off from bases in Azerbaijan and head south through the Iranian border. They also took photos and videos of Iran"s nuclear facilities and found out if Iran"s anti-aircraft defenses were detected," the article says. The material also says that in 2010, Israel was one-step from the start of the war with Iran. The material also notes that the Pentagon, in the time of Barack Obama, built an exact copy of the Iranian uranium enrichment plant located in Fordo in the desert in the western United States and destroyed the model with an anti-bunker bomb.
The Americans handed over the video of the strike to Israel in order to demonstrate to the ally their readiness to intervene if necessary and to prevent the Ayatollah"s regime from acquiring nuclear weapons. Official Baku at the level of the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has already twice denied reports of the presence of Israeli drones in Azerbaijan and their use against neighbors. However, to this day, such reports have come from Iranian and Syrian sources.
A number of observers regard the publication in the New York Times as a manifestation of Washington"s dissatisfaction with the recent visit to Baku by the head of the Russian Security Council, Nikolai Patrushev, and his statement about the need to strengthen military-technical cooperation between Russia and Azerbaijan. Publication in the New York Times clearly will not help strengthen relations between Baku and Washington, as well as Baku and Tehran. -02D
