Norwegian Helsinki Committee calls for release of Aziz Orujev
Baku/30.11.23/Turan: The Norwegian Helsinki Committee (NHC) called on the Azerbaijani authorities to release the director of the Internet TV "Kanal 13" Aziz Orujev and drop charges against him.This is stated in the statement of the NHK.
Recall that Orujev became the fourth journalist arrested in Azerbaijan in recent days.
Initially, the authorities arrested three journalists of the online course «Abzas Media» for their investigations of corruption in the government.
The NHC also notes that this is not the first case of Orujev's persecution.In 2017, the court found him guilty of illegal entrepreneurship and sentenced him to 6 years of imprisonment. A year later he was released on probation. -16V-
